Worship Style

Our Worship Team invites you to come and worship with us. At Calvary Chapel Of The Sierra it is our desire to be a worshiping church. A body of believers who are not ashamed to enter into God's presence, and yet do so with humility as we express our gratitude for all He has done for us. This is done, for the most part, through a contemporary style of music. Calvary Chapels are often identified by their style of music, yet we do not claim to have "cornered the market" on worship. Contemporary praise and worship music (with some traditional hymns) is simply the style we choose to incorporate and we thank God for our brothers and sisters who choose to worship through other styles of music.

Worship Philosophy

Jesus said in John 4:23 that "true worshipers will worship in spirit and in truth" and that "the Father seeks such to worship Him". Not only is it a great privilege to worship God, it is our duty, as God seeks our worship. Only the true Christian is able to experience true worship as God's truth is embraced, adored, and internalized through the reading of His Word. The Holy Spirit is asked to "have His way" in our worship services. And it is our intention to yield to what He desires. Only then will we find ourselves in God's presence.
